Steps to install Android 8.1 Oreo for your Moto G4/G4 Plus
- You must make sure that you have fully implemented all necessary requirements.
- You will now need to download the official firmware from links provided above.
- Move the update zip file to internal storage (if you have downloaded it on your computer). Also remember to put the firmware file on the main storage path, that’s outside any folders.
- Now power off your G4.
- At this point you will need to boot it into Fastboot/Bootloader mode by pressing theVolume Up + Powerbuttons at the same time for several seconds.
- Now you will notice several options inside the bootloader, from these options select highlight Recoveryoption by volume buttons, and then finally select it usingpowerbutton.
- Now you will notice that the phone has booted into recovery mode.
- From here selectApply Update from SD Cardoption and choose it in the same way as before.
- Now go to the update zip file that you transferred to the phone memory in the previous steps, and then press Powerbutton to begin the installation of Oreo update.
- Once installing completed, press “Reboot to System Now” button to reboot into the new firmware.
